Uninsured and low-income adults often experience health problems, but are more likely than those with insurance to forgo care or go into debt to pay for health care. The scope of coverage matters for insured low-income adults and some, particularly those with health problems, have difficulty shouldering out-of-pocket health care costs. The number of individuals who are unable to access medical care because they are underinsured or lack any insurance at all continues to increase.
Achieving wellness and remaining healthy is an active process. Effective strategies for staying healthy and improving one's wellness to an optimum level include the following elements: Nutrition, Exercise, Hygiene, Stress Management, Health Care, Workplace Wellness Programs, and Public Health.

The vision of the Foundation is to address public health needs that cannot be met by established organizations; to fund innovative public health initiatives that do not have established funding sources; to promote collaboration among private and public organizations to achieve public health goals; and to receive donations, grants, endowments and contributions from individuals, organizations, foundations or other entities.
